About Me

meet the team

I'm Amy and I am passionate about all things dog! I grew up in the North of Scotland with a family who loved animals of all shapes and sizes, sparking my passion for animal welfare.

I started my career by volunteering in a vets and a dog rescue centre and working part time for the SSPCA as an Animal Rescue Officer. I then moved on to dog walking and was quickly bitten by the training bug. A few years followed in a local walking, training and day-care business which provided me with invaluable hands-on experience caring for and training dogs of all breeds and ages.

More recently, I have worked for a large dog charity, providing training and development for their dog training teams.

I am a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and registered with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). I am always looking to further my knowledge and am currently undertaking an Enhanced course in Canine Behaviour Management at Level 5.

I train only using positive reinforcement methods and have a special focus on meeting a dog's needs alongside applying training to ensure the highest possible levels of dog welfare. You will NEVER see me use equipment such as choke chains, prong collars, shock collars or fear and physical intimidation - our dogs deserve better!

I live on the West Coast of Scotland with my husband and two rescue Border Collies. Flynn is a real couch potato but Ace is my partner in loads of dog-activities including trick training, agility, hoopers and heelwork to music.
